Letter Knowledge
Letter Knowledge:
These assessments are formal and formative assessments and can also be used as summative assessments if given at the end of the school year. They should be given individually versus as a small group for an accurate assessment of the students knowledge. This type of assessment helps the teacher understand where the students are in relation to letter knowledge. This helps them to cater and form the lesson plans so that every student can learn and know their letter and begin to read. This is designed for Pre-k to first grade but can be used in older grades as a formative assessment only. Each assessment should take approximately five to ten minutes per student to complete. These assessments can be found at lovetoteach.org and worksheetful.com.
